Multifactor Prescription Skincare Solutions Formulated for Deep Dermal Delivery
Our Science
DoctorDerm creates multifactor prescription topicals to treat a variety of skin issues. Our proprietary formulations are designed to improve treatment results by enhancing the deep dermal delivery of multiple scientifically-proven ingredients.
The Problem
Patients often receive multiple prescription topicals for a single skin issue. A tedious regimen that involves applying the optimal ratio of each prescription topical can lead to inconsistent application and results.
Our Solution
DoctorDerm creates integrated multifactor solutions for patients’ specific skin issues. Each of our products is crafted with a carefully calibrated ratio of clinically-proven prescription ingredients combined for optimal results.
Formulated for targeted, deep dermal delivery
DoctorDerm’s multifactor skincare solutions are formulated with synergistic excipients such as lipids that facilitate medication absorption and activation at the right dermal layers. Our excipients facilitate the passage of medical ingredients deeper into the dermal layers and support moisturization, resulting in accelerated absorption and activation for optimal skin healing. Skincare prescription creams from other sources lack the full biochemical characteristics of DoctorDerm’s proprietary formulations.
Powered by Skin Science
The skin surface provides the largest interface between the human body and the external environment. The skin’s surface protects internal organs and prevents excessive loss of water used to nourish the skin and body.
The skin’s barrier properties are contained primarily in the stratum corneum, the thin outer layer of the epidermis. The stratum corneum consists of corneocytes, primarily aggregated keratin filaments encased in a cornified envelope and surrounded by extracellular lipids organized as multiple bilayers. The stratum corneum regulates epidermal DNA and lipid synthesis. Its secretions deliver not only lipid precursors, but also several hydrolytic enzymes to extracellular domains.
Advanced Skincare Technology
The stratum corneum layer is constructed in a “brick and mortar” style, with the mortar composed of bilayer lipids and other extracellular structures. These structured lipids prevent excessive loss of water from the body and likewise block entry of most topically applied drugs, other than those that are lipid-soluble and of low molecular weight. This poses a significant challenge to administering topical medications via the skin, and this is the challenge that DoctorDerm multifactor skincare solutions are designed to address.
DoctorDerm formulates our topical products to solubilize medical ingredients and maximize their movement through the stratum corneum for optimal drug delivery. . Improving stratum corneum hydration can increase absorption of targeted active ingredients into the deeper skin layers as much as ten fold.
Created for Molecular Delivery
Phosphatidylcholine, a lipid component of the proprietary DoctorDerm vehicles, integrates into the lipid bilayer of the skin, improving the delivery of active ingredients. It acts as a molecular delivery truck driving tretinoin, azelaic acid, and other active ingredients into the right targeted skin layers for maximum efficacy. Furthermore, phosphatidylcholine prevents transepidermal water loss, keeping the skin hydrated and protecting it from sun damage.
DoctorDerm multifactor skincare solutions are also formulated with natural, non-comedogenic ingredients such as macadamia, jojoba, and vitamin E oils. These oils help with moisturization, wound healing, inflammation, and protection of the skin barrier. Jojoba oil can reverse signs of aging by fading fine lines and wrinkles. Macadamia oil has a high concentration of monounsaturated fatty acids, which are naturally found in the skin and help lock in moisture and act as a barrier to environmental stressors.
